Mlastic

The word mlastic derives from biomass plastic, which was most probably the name given by an ancient biotechnologies corporation. The inner walls of the substation are made of this living substance, which, among other functions, converts carbon dioxide into oxygen for the benefit of some of the air breathing organisms on board. Living solar panels on the outer wall of the substation are another integral part of this symbiosis.
Mlastic is a hard, porous substance with microscopic pixels that take on colors programmed by its cellular subneural circuitry to display anything from a wall of "painted" solid color, to a running news ticker along the floorboard.
